Unit 2 what kind of information am I looking for

Scenario we are fighting to win a commission to make a short film which will feature as part of a national campaign to raise awareness about domestic abuse. To be successful you must deliver a comprehensive report showing your understanding of the context and issues together with a pitch which effectively presents your film idea to the commissioning team. 1.1 what information am I looking for/ Target audience/Budget/Genre/constraints/ethical considerations etc For my campaign to make a short film, I am going to need to take a look at key factors which will be important in the success of my short film , for example, who my target audience is going to be, what type of budget I will need to work with for the video to be a success as well as what type of content is going to be appropriate to my viewers. The target audience for my short film is going to be people who have already or are being affected by some sort of domestic abuse. Not only do I want to aim it at those affected I also want to aim it at adults between 18-40 to raise awareness of the issue. I want domestic abuse to be spoken about more openly amongst individuals instead of it being an unspoken topic. A budget is the amount of money needed for the production of something, in my case it will be the budget a short film The type of budget I will need is going to be very small for this type of short film, However as it is a national campaign I will probably have more money available to me. To ensure I have a good understanding of how much money is required to make a short film I will research in further detail about budgets to find rough budgeting figures. My budget must cover the production of my short film as well as managing to cover distribution costs. Some concerns may rise during the idea process of my short film. It is my responsibility to ensure the content being shown is appropriate for my target audience. It must be suitable for public consumption, as the topic being covered is so sensitive I have to treat the process of making it very carefully. My final product (short film) must be sensible and age appropriate to be aired. During the production of my short film there may be some constraints that I will face. For example I may not be able to use all my ideas. Legal and ethical considerations distribution/commissioning Similar Products For my short film to be the best it can be I am going to need to look at competitors, I will need a good understanding of all the different domestic abuse short films out at the moment as well as understanding my market. This gives me the chance to look at what they did right and where they went wrong. 1.2 Where will I source all of this information from For me to find out all of the information I spoke about above I will get my sources from google search, Books, journals, magazines, websites, newspapers etc. All of these sources of information are very useful and will provide me with all the detail I need. Certain websites I may look into would be NSPCC, suicide hotline and child line. The reason I have chose these three are because they are the main well known successful abuse websites out there. These websites will help me in my research to make the best short film I can. I can take tips and useful facts and information from their websites. Books will help me in the search for my information, I can find books on google search which will hold a lot of detailed data. raindance film festival - 10 zero budget filmmaking tips sundance film festival Representation - Looking at the title of the article I can see that the use of the word safe in the title is used in order to entice vulnerable women, it helps women feel safe where they are as well as reading the article.
